Well, conc shot lies in the marksmanshipline, since I wont be putting any points in it, I didnt really consider it...
What I was thinking of is maybe putting in some energy regen skill, still have to figure out wich one though. Another Elite I was considering is Melandru's Arrows... gotta love that one

i made this kind of build not long ago:
pin down
concussion shot
poison arrow/apply poison
throw dirt
phantom pain/distracting shot
epidemic
troll/heal spring
res
in this one you dont really need any points in the mesmer prof, so you can spend them on marsmanship.

I think you should atleast put enough in marksmenship to make your bow requirement.
With all these conditions, and points in illusion magic.. why not bring fragility?

now that's much better. if you want to make use of condition spreading, you gotta inflict conditions (choking gas is not a condition).
i would still go for fevered dreams because of the larger aoe. so apply poison, then cast dreams, then stuff conditions: pin down, hunters, concussion, whatever you can find. you can bleed+cripple+poison (and sometimes +dazed) an entire group. conjure is nice, but not at the expense of another condition i can stack on everyone nearby (phantom pain is possible but you got to get your timing right). traps also work well: place a trap then cast dreams and run back. barbed trap will cripple and bleed everyone for a LONG time (this is pve and the mobs are stupid).
i had tons of fun playing a condition ranger in several pve missions, if things get ugly, it's usually you that gets them out of trouble .

Seems like a nice build
How would I have to spend my attributes then?
Keep the comments comming, they are really useful to me!

another option, which i really like, is making a R/N.
virulece
pin down
hunter's shot
throw dirt
enfeeble (not a must-have)
concussion shot
troll/spring/plague touch
res sig
you wont be spreading your conditions to everyone, for that you will need another mesmer...
what you wil be doing, is causing: poison, desease (this one spreads by it's self), cripple, bleeding, blindeness, weakness, dazeness ( ) and any condition you might be infected with.
if im not mistaking, the only condition you wont be causing, is deep wound.
this build works wonders in comp arena, since not many people take condition removers, and the arrows themselves cause a hefty amount of damage.

As much as I love hunters shot... to get bleeding you need the target to be moving and that's not always a given.
Combining Fevered dreams in with a ranger (or perhaps a necro) does sound *realy* interesting tho.

If I had not allready chosen my second proff, I might have chosen Necro... but I dont really feel like starting my char all over again...
The conditions are great tho
As for hunter's shot, I'm having the same thoughts on that, it works great on a longbow though, since you would be pulling yr enemies closer, and for that they have to move. But now I come to think of it: I need points in MS to meet my bow's req :/
omg this is complicated... I Want More Attribute points!! Double would be enough

R/Me is hot for spreading conditions.
Apply Poison with high Wilderness and a fast target change will cause wonders... This also comes with the benefit of traps. PvE, traps are Godly.
I'd look at this if you don't care about your bow...
12+1+3 Wilderness Survival
7+1 Marksmanship [you can find max dmg bows for this marks]
8+1 Expertise
8 Illusion
Apply Poison
Barbed Trap
Dust Trap
Flame Trap
Whirling Defense
Fevered Dreams {E}
Phantom Pain
Res Sig
You're doing every condition except Disease and dazed. Not only that, but your trap damage will be inconcievably high causing mobs to just go splat in seconds...

Good, I was wondering about fevered dreams, im trying to make a bio nuke myself, pure poison almost. Also, maybe Mantra of Persistance with conjure phantasam. Thats a good combo.

The OP asked for a conditions build. Your combo doesn't help him. Phantom Pain > Conjure Phantasm regarding that.

Rangers are nice for conditions, but remember that you can only run one preparation at a time...
So two suggestions (this is pure theory craft - no real world trials on this yet):
- Fevered Dreams {E} or Epidemic - Epidemic frees up your elite but the timing might get tough.
- Phantom Pain/Conjur Phantasm/Fragility - Covering Hex for Dreams - PP would be best, but CP is a faster cast. Frag fits nicely except its not about spreading conditions
Now the ranger skills
Bow based: Pure Marksmanship, you can dump extra points into Wilderness Survival- Apply Poison or Poison Arrow{E} - Apply is a preparation
- Pindown - for the cripple
- Hunters Shot / Melandrus Arrows {E} - MA would be nice as it always bleeds, but you'll have to give up poisoning as its also a preparation.
- Consussion Shot - energy expensive but if you can get the timing right - woo hoo
- Throw Dirt - only good if you get up close, but blindness can be your buddy
- Favorbles Wind - Sure it will help the other team, but you want to make sure your arrows get to their target as fast as possible
Pet Based: Pure Beast Mastery, you can dump extra points into Wilderness Survival- Maiming Strike - cripples
- Feral Lunge - bleeds
- Apply Poison / Poison Arrow{E} - both will work with minimal skill point investment
- Predators Pounce/Scavengers Strike - either pet healing or extra damage since you are going conditions
- Disrupting Lunge - not a condition, but can be nice... you could also sub in Beastial Pounce for knockdown if you're going after casters
- Charm Animal - cause you have to
All things being equal (and this being a for fun PvE build or perhaps an annoying random arena build), I'd go with:
Beast Mastery 14 (12+2)
Illusion 10
Expertise 9 (8+1)- Fevered Dreams {E}
- Phantom Pain
- Maiming Strike
- Feral Lunge
- Apply Poison
- Disrupting Lunge
- Predators Pounce
- Charm Animal
Get the green stuff on your arrows, and Get your fav beastie out on target, en route drop FD and then PP on target. Cause crippled and bleeding with pet and drop in a Poison Arrow. Depending on hex removal you'll already have a deep wound. Your pet is free to use Predators Pounce to keep alive and tanking and dropping in the Disrupting Lunge to hassle casters/monks.
Course have to see how it works in real life!
